It was first Josiah Wedgwood (having an extensive interest in botany and horticulture) who first came up with the idea of the Royal Horticultural Society, suggesting a horticulture society to William Forsyth, George III’s head gardener.

It is very fitting then that The Royal Horticultural Society and Wedgwood embarked on an exciting new three-year partnership, marking the reunion of the two iconic British brands with a shared history and vision – to enrich people’s lives by celebrating nature, championing sustainability and creating healthier and happier communities.

As a result there will be a Wedgwood Tea Conservatory appearing at three prestigious RHS events – Chelsea, Chatsworth and Tatton. Core to this is the launch of a new teaware, gifting and tea range called ‘Wonderlust. Florals form the centre of the collection with designs that present the beauty of exceptional flowers and plants from different continents.

Working with the Wedgwood merchandising team, Envisage were given the challenge to realise this concept. Visitors to the show were greeted by an impressive marquee structure, featuring highly decorative metal fretwork and fabric banners in the familiar Wedgwood Blue. The interior was lined with a beautiful illustration looking through glazing bars, giving the viewer the illusion of an enchanted garden complete with exotic fauna and flora.

Guests were welcomed to a central tea bar serving floral teas made from fruits, flowers and spices. The chequerboard flooring and plush furniture added a regal air to the environment. The Wonderlust teaware and a new range of Wedgwood garden pottery adorned specially made display cabinets and plinths. The finishing touches were given by beautifully crafted floral displays – nothing less than would be expected at such an event as Chelsea Flower Show!

The Tea Conservatory attracted many visitors at Chelsea and Envisage are proud to be involved in an extended roll out of this concept at the John Lewis Peter Jones store, in addition to other RHS events.
